This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. The chess analogy arises in "To the Seventh", a story
I found problematic in various ways. Nutria, do you
think God's shifting of focus to another part of the
board near the end will save Chance and co, diverting
Satan long enough for the pawn to queen? And: why the
comic book texture of the universe portrayed? I
thought Wolfe might be implying Chance's cosmos is an
inferior parody of reality, its "God" a demiurge...
