This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Has nobody before made the connection between Marsch and Marshmen? I'm sure somebody must have (it's an obvious sort of Wolfean wordplay), but I can't recall anyone doing so.

    The piece about green eyes is a bit clunky; I interpret it simply as    Wolfe hammering home the point that green eyes are a characteristic    by which we may identify abos.  As for the water buffalo-like    creature that Marsch shoots, I find Marsch's explanation    reasonable.  Incidentally, the Shadow Children are indicated to grab    the Marshmen by the hair, a;though they do gouge out the eyes of one    of them.
