Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Excellent analysis Richard. This had been hovering at the edge of

my awareness for a while but you brought it to focus and nailed it 

perfectly.

question of whether Gene Wolfe asks his readers to take leaps

of faith.
