This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Jesus was certainly opposed to the Saducees. There is no dearth of verses chiding them as enemies of God.
But not every priest was a Saducee, not even the whole Sanhedrin, and the evidence is that the common Jew didn't do anything regarding religion that Jesus especially condemned.

Doubtless a major change, but let's not male the former worse than it was: it is an injunction by God to not be disproportionate in replying to aggression. Something to heed even today!
