George R. R. Martin on Gene Wolfe

Robert Pirkola · 29 Apr 2015, 15:03 · from 2015-April.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Though I strongly disagree with Puppies both Rabid and Sad, I do think that Nick Jost was justified in being a bit
miffed by Nick Lee's uncharacteristically broad brush stroke regarding what all Puppies may or may not understand.
One thing that is clear based upon the volumes in this very mailing list is that few of us truly "understand" Wolfe, though
we are striving to do so. ?Focusing on the merits of arguments is a strength of this list and its members and should not be?
abandoned in?the heat of this contentious topic.
