This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

You are correct Dan'l. ?Though it is more likely that if anyone is Blackbeard it is Chris's child rather than?
Chris himself, it just seems to present too many insuperable problems. ?Calico Jack, Mary Read and Anne Bonney
are also mentioned in the character list at the end, but I don't believe they are there to tell us that
Captain Burt, Novia, or Estrellita are those historical people. ?Instead their respective biographies
enlighten us to the surprising authenticity of what might otherwise be thought to be entirely from
Wolfe's imagination. ??
