This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Hello all! This is my first post on this mailing list, and thus I apologize
in advance if I've made an error, or offered a silly question. I've been
following and reading through for a while.

Is there anything to be read into Severian sharing a name with Severian of
Gabala? I'm currently half through 'In Green's Jungles' in terms of the
Solar Cycle series and I've read through a number of his other books.

One rather unhelpful friend suggested that Gene Wolfe was writing in a
pre-Google era and thus it might be coincidence? I think I can be fairly
certain that there is very little happenstance that Gene Wolfe offers in
his worlds.
