This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Yes me too. Hopefully there are some callbacks to the most inexplicable
parts of A Borrowed Man. They spend ten pages thinking about how Conrad Sr
got his money and then Ern is like, maybe I?ll come back to that, or maybe
I won?t. Definitely the most frustrating part of Wolfe?s late work is
trying to determine what can be discerned and what is outside the realm of
interpolation. The manner in which Ern deduces the true identity of his out
of work cop friend is one of the most unbelievable things Wolfe ever out to
paper - are we supposed to believe it?
