This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. In a Gene Wolfe book, either the map is awfully important and nobody has studied it well
enough, and presenting a half-accurate version is counterproductive, or the map is a mere detail and worrying too much about it is counterproductive.

But if the Comminwealth is supposed to be South America and Nessus is Buenos Aires, then certainly the Gyoll cannot be the Amazonas.
