This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. I thought that Hooper had been thoroughly discredited.  I haven't seen
"Prelude to Space" but isn't THE DARK TOWER fragment that Hooper
published thought to be of questionable origin?  Wolfe himself
dismissed it in some interview or other it on the grounds that he felt
that he was pretty good at recognizing authors' styles and it didn't
read like Lewis to him.  I seem to recall reading a long and tedious
web page devited to this topic.  I thought it was an interesting read.

And earlier Rostrum noted:

STRENGTH, the third (and weirdest, IMHO) book.
