The Haunted Boardinghouse vs. the Drinkwater house

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Although I agree that the house in THB is supposed to recall the=20
house in LB, there are some differences. The haunted boardinghouse is=20
a more or less normal house (architecturally speaking, although it=20
has had various additions/subtractions over time) except that each=20
side is a front, each in a different architectural/historical style.

The Drinkwater house has five different fronts and is actually five=20
different, interpenetrating houses, somehow folded together. And it=20
was designed that way deliberately, from the beginning.
