This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Whop! It just hit me what you're talking about...Mr. Million is an
ancestor of the line, isn't he? Some kind of personality imprint of
great-grandpaw, right? Hmmm....Million=3DLegion, maybe?

I do remember this line from the young man's father...something about
how "we never rise any higher", implying that the devil is stuck in a
kind of mediocrity. The whole point of the cloning experiments is for
the devil to transcend his limitations, I guess. But it doesn't
work--the devil is just naturally mediocre. There's something of C.S.
Lewis in that; I think old Clive would like it.
