What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Both Vodalus and Jolenta are playing alloted roles, at=20
least as I see it. That they are both deposed (In one sense=20
or another), and replaced, indicates that "what they are"=20
to paraphrase Sev, is locked within a certain formal=20
structure which dictates their selfhood. This could be the=20
work of the increate, the autarch, or the author, depending=20
on your viewpoint.

On a seperate matter, has anybody encountered M. John=20
Harrison's 'Viriconium' books, which have recently been=20
republished on the masterworks list in the UK? They contain=20
certain similarities to the New Sun Books, although they=20
are far bleaker, and might be of interest to some of you=20
dudes.
