This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Both Vodalus and Jolenta are playing alloted roles, at=20 least as I see it. That they are both deposed (In one sense=20 or another), and replaced, indicates that "what they are"=20 to paraphrase Sev, is locked within a certain formal=20 structure which dictates their selfhood. This could be the=20 work of the increate, the autarch, or the author, depending=20 on your viewpoint. On a seperate matter, has anybody encountered M. John=20 Harrison's 'Viriconium' books, which have recently been=20 republished on the masterworks list in the UK? They contain=20 certain similarities to the New Sun Books, although they=20 are far bleaker, and might be of interest to some of you=20 dudes.
