Is Free Live Free worth it?

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I'm just starting Free Live Free and it seems darker and grittier than=20
anything by Wolfe I've read yet.  Actually, I'm not really enjoying it at=20
all.  I would just give Wolfe the benefit of the doubt (he's never let me=20
down yet) and read it trusting it will be better, but I'm coming to this li=

for advice.  Maybe this book was his one dud.  What did you guys think of i=

 Is Free Live Free worth it?  (i.e.  Does it get better?)
