New Wolfe story online

William Ansley · 03 May 2001, 23:01 · from urth-v0030.mbox · original

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I hated this story, but I didn't care=20
much for it either. In addition to your list of "least favorite=20
Lupine elements," another one (for me at least) this story displayed=20
is the vaguely apocalyptic, vaguely described=20
future/alternate-history version of the United States.
