This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I have to admit, the last time I reread the trilogy, I read it backwards,
and enjoyed Titus Alone the best (I was reminded of it last weekend,
sitting in deckchairs criticising a sunrise ;)).

At one time in the 80's, there was to be a movie version with Sting as
Steerpike (a la Brimstone & Treacle I guess) -- I was quite looking
forward to it.  The current version is visually good and the supporting
characters true to Peake's drawings and descriptions (has anyone mentioned
the Doctor), but too short and somehow missing the exact tone of Peake's
writing (I too recommend reading _Mr Pye_).
