Digest urth.v006.n022

Jim Jordan · 31 Jan 1998, 10:58 · from urth-v0006.mbox · original

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Slimy:

Where have I ever made such an assertion? Now, when it comes to Wolfe, I'm
pretty safe making the assertion, since it is fairly obvious. Also, since
he confirmed it.
Blind Ultan's library may allude to Alexandria (I suspect it doth), but is
primarily Blind Borges's library in Buenos Aires. (Note the Borgesian intro
to the series: I found this ms and translated it....).
