This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

This is just an observation, and it really doesn't mean anything. I just=20
noticed that when Andy Robertson replies to a post, it uses the original=20
senders ID on the archives (at least, it does that with mine) (in effect, i=
t=20
looks like I posted almost twice as much as I really did in the last archiv=
e).
 I really don't mind this at all, but it's kind of odd, and could be confus=
ing=20
in trying to figure out who said what. (In a personal interaction with anot=
her=20
poster, one of Andy's statements was mistakenly attributed to me, and this=20
might explain why ... I hadn't noticed before). Oh well, we'll just conside=
r=20
this a cozy intellectual community. You don't mind sharing your identity, d=
o=20
you Andy? :) We could be like Silkhorn. "Did Silk or Horn say that?"
I don't know if it does that with everyone who responds or just Andy, but I=20
was wondering if there was some cause.

Also, does anybody know if any prominent critic (besides Clute and Dirda, o=
f=20
course) like Harold Bloom has ever read Gene Wolfe? If Bloom praises Crowl=
ey=20
and David Lindsay so highly, I can only imagine he would not dismiss Wolfe =
out=20
of hand if he read his work (as he dismisses, say, Dorris Lessing). Alga,=20
didn't you have some vague connection with Bloom at one time? (sorry if I=20
misremembered that). Foist Wolfe on him.
