This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Marc,

Yes, you have expressed your theories before and at considerable=20
length. You are certainly positive enough about them, but I am not=20
buying any of it at the moment. I definitely find the genetic aspects=20
of your "plant-human hybrids" to be highly questionable. Of course,=20
that doesn't mean anything in science fiction. In fact, the only=20
thing that matters is whether what you express in your theories is=20
what Wolfe had in mind.

And, despite having read through the Short Sun series twice, I have=20
no idea what Wolfe had in mind, so I can't criticize you on that=20
account. But your theories don't help me to make any more sense out=20
of the books, so they don't appeal to me either.

If I can work up enough enthusiasm to re-read the SS series (which is=20
doubtful) I will be keeping your ideas in mind, however.
