This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Except that 4 + 1 + 4 + 3 ain't so.

But if we're counting, what's 'A Novel'?  If asked I'd have said that
TBotNS was a novel in four volumes, TUotNS in one, TBotLS in four and
TBotSS in three.

So 1 + 1 + 1 + 1

One might argue (although I would not) that Severian and Silk =3D 5 + 7.

In each multi volume case there's a contiguity of narative that makes them
single entities.  Contrast with Le Guin's Earthsea which I'd say was three
(now four) novels becasue although they all feature Ged, and in the first
'trilogy' he's the protagonist, they are not contiguous.
