This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Reading the Urth (and the late Whorl) lists has made me think about the
way I read.  The regular (and apparently unending) unurthing of things I'd
not noticed brought me to the onclusion that I was generally an uncritical
reader.

Reading that rasfw thread however maybe I'm too hard on myself.  If I lack
insight then in comparison some of the contributors to the thread are
close to brain death.  I can understand if ones taste simply doesn't run
to the baroque use of language but for someone who'se read it to say
"Severian is a man with a good memory" beggars belief.

Thanks too Jerry for reminding me why I gave up reading rasfw.  :-)
