PANDORA written in the Seventies

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

This suggests to me that the forward to PbHH was written later than the res=
t of
the novel.  In it, Wolfe writes (as Pandora): "This just one that took a lo=
ng
time to sell. (Except in France, so _vive la France!_....)"  Was Pandora
published originally in France, in any form?  I couldn't find any evidence =
in
the usual sources, and I didn't find anything from a quick google search.  =
It
seems an odd thing to write if it's not true, but it wouldn't be the first =
time
one of Wolfe's narrator's was less than truthful.
