This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I don't recall Quetzal well, but his attempt to stick to beef tea might well have been in order to avoid doing things that might get him caught, rather than out of compassion for humans. After all, he does direct the colonists to Green at the end. And I'm not sure that Jahlee and Krait "struggle against their nature." They both refrain from drinking the blood of Horn or those in his party (at least Jahlee does; I don't remember Krait too well, again), but I don't recall any indications that they made any effort not to drink the blood of humans in general. It seems to me that this is at best delayed gratification, not a struggle against one's nature. --Adam --=20
