Early Urth & Other Writers -Reply

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

While we're on the subject of other authors (and before we determine where
we're *supposed* to post these things), has anyone read Adam Lee's (AKA A.
A. Attanasio's) THE DARK SHORE (Book One of The Dominions of Irth). You can
immediately see that this book bears at least a good bit of resemblance to
TBOTNS. I haven't read it yet and what I'm wondering is this a cheap
knockoff of The Book, or a more sophisticated "metafiction" about the book?
Attanasio is a rather ambitious writer so I suspect the latter.
