This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Just a thought, but it seems to me that Thais (isn't
that a Jack Vance character?) at the end of Urth has
some striking similarities to Severian.

She's tall, "dark and hollow cheeked".

She sleeps on her stomach, cradling her head in her
arms, as Severian "has so often lain".

She seems about to tell Severian something when he
offers up his blanket, but is stopped short by Pega.=20
Perhaps, "no, Pop, here take my blanket."

Anyway, I realize it's thin, but I've seen stranger
theories, supported with less.  So...
