This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Hmmm... well if she's a former sailor, perhaps her sailing experience is not
limited to the water. If she's been a crewman on a ship like Severian was on
to retrieve the New Sun.....

Well, as I glance back over UTNS, it seems unlikely
that Thais could be Severian's kid by Dorcas.  The
last he saw of her was a decade or so before leaving
to get the New Sun, and he returns several more
decades latter, if poor shriveled Valaria is any
indication.  Thais is in Severian's estimation "fairly
young...

She does seem to know her way around a boat, being a
"sensible woman...bailing downwind
