This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

There's a simple explanation for the second man in Tom's photo.  I think th=
e=20
photograph, like Candy's, is a publicity photograph.  What do you do to mak=
e=20
a publicity photograph of a giant?  You have to establish scale, so you tak=
e=20
a fairly short, normal-looking, man and pose the giant next to him.  Howeve=
r,=20
you want to keep the focus of the photograph on the giant, so you pose them=20
together, maybe shaking hands, so that the second man has his back to the=20
viewer, is off-center, and is wearing less noteworthy clothing (possibly a=20
plain suit).  This explains why Miss Hadow only described the giant and why=20
Weer said "either" and not "any" in "I've never met either of these people."

This explanation leaves several questions, one being why Tom is wearing the=20
same clothing as Julius.  I think this has to be significant and that Wolfe=20
is establishing some link between Julius and Tom.  Maybe Julius is=20
responsible for Tom's height (people who have followed my postings will=20
realize this is my favorite explanation), or maybe Tom's role in the=20
Cinderella story relates to Julius in some way. =20
