This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Let me briefly go over why I thought so: right before=20 Silk meets Hyacinth for the first time, he finds all kinds of statues of bo= y=20 toys for the gods: Ganymede and Catamitus, both boy lovers that I normally=20 associate with Musk. But Hyacinthus is the same kind of mythic figure: mal= e=20 lover of Apollo, stricken dead by the jealous wind. But instead of Musk, h= e=20 immediately meets Hyacinth, who has fake breasts. Then later, in Calde of = the=20 Long Sun ,Patera Quetzal, when Silk claims that he slept with a woman, says= he=20 doesn't believe that his augur has done that. It sounds like nothing, but=20 Wolfe has a ton of those double entendres in his work. I'm just surprised=20 that someone else came up with the same thematic idea - the evidence isn't = as=20 sketchy as the evidence that suggest that Patera Pike is Blood's father, bu= t=20 it's pretty sketchy. I don't see the chem part as convincing, but I think=20 Hyacinth could certainly be an ex-male who had a little transformation enac= ted=20 and it explains the sterility of Silk's relationship. I don't know how seriously to take these things, really. Not as seriously = as=20 a take a lot of the other stuff I post. Marc Aramini --=20
