This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I recently posed the idea that the Whorl technology was photonic rather tha=
n=20
electronic.
Actually I probably sounded very certain of it. All I have to go on is=20
recent reading on the subject. Scientic American ran a set of articles on=20
the subject in the Jan 2001 issue.

I understood that waveguides (as the term is commonly used) worked for both=20
optical and electronic systems. I'm not sure you're disputing the gist of m=
