This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. I'd forgotten this; which means that the analogy between Pas and the
Demiurge, and the case for a gnostic influence on the Long Sun books, are
even weaker than I thought.  I see no reason not to regard the "cosmology"
of the Long Sun as a product of Wolfe's views on the existence of pagan
"gods" combined with the generation-starship trope, with any resemblance to
Gnosticism being accidental.
