This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

You know, since you mention it I have to bring up something that's been=20
nagging at me persistently since I first read it.

The easiest and most coherent explanation of what happens with Marble and=20
Rose is exactly as you describe, that some of the attributes/personality of=20
Rose came over with her parts when Marble scavenged them. This is what I=20
intuited, at any event, even before Silk realizes what's going on. *But*=20
then I got thrown a loop which I find disturbing. There's a passage where=20
Rose/Marble is speaking as Rose, which basically implies that she was=20
present in Marble *before* the parts came over. I this is the same passage=20
where she uses the phrase "reclaim" (in reference to the prosthetics) which=20
has led some people here to theorize that it was Marble speaking, and that=20
Rose had originally taken those parts from Marble long ago. However, the=20
sense of it was that Rose was explaining why she had to take back the parts=20
from her old body, and it makes no sense for her to go through this thought=20
process (even as a rationalization) unless she was present in Marble just=20
beforehand.

Of course, Rose/Marble could just be very confused by what she's gone=20
through. I am uncomfortable dismissing it so easily, though.
