5th Head Genealogies Redux

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Well, it could be because Jeannine is a woman and she assumes #5's
sibling must be a girl too. She does not seem aware of David, so she
could be just guessing. After all this is a Gene Wolfe novel and what a
character thinks (in opposition to what he or she knows) could be wrong.

My real problem is: who is Jeannine? Is she the "control" of the
previous experiment?

You are right. I did not read your post slowly enough.

Best
