This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

(Nigel, delurking for a second time in a day in response to some of the
hurtful comments that have been made about Marc in recent postings.)

Oh come on, chaps!

As for what GW would think of anyone sharing what he wrote, well, who knows?
But he strikes me as a tough old bird, a wise and wily mid-westerner, well
versed in the ways of the world. An engineer who has worked for a
multi-national company, an author who has been in business for several
decades, a family man who has brought up children....No, if he's been and
done all that and not only survived but prospered, I can't see that he's
going to be upset by *anything* Marc or anyone else does or says here.

And when have any of the interviews that GW has given over the years
destroyed our debate or given privileged status to the interviewees? Never!
A thousand questions remain, and we continue to read and wonder, post to the
list and ponder.

I love these discussions, even when I've nothing to contribute, or no time
to say what I might, but let's not make it personal!
