Another Banggnab?

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I've wondered about this in connection with the discrepancies
between Severian's account of Merryn in New Sun and one of the twins'
in Short Sun. (Why doesn't Severian tell us he'd met Merryn before?
In RttW he resolves not to tell us the Silkhorn incident, but he could
still have said he'd met Merryn before, when he needed help from a
witch or something like that.) Is it possible that the Severian in
RttW is from another "kalpa"?

But now you have "astral" travel between Banggnabs? Well, I guess
that's how Wolfe got the manuscripts of these books.

[snip lots of other interesting stuff]

And now I have to unsubscribe from this list and the other one I'm
on so I can devote more time to other things, such as my job. (Oh,
right, they're paying me to work!) But thanks to you all for lots
of fascinating thoughts! I may stop by to see whether THE SOLUTION
to the BotSS has been posted.
