This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

There still seem to be plenty of uncollected Gene Wolfe short stories out there. When are we going to see the publication of a uniform, multi-volume edition of "The Complete Literary Works of Gene Wolfe", I wonder? These things come out after an author's death, so in that sense I certainly hope that it won't be published for many years yet. On the other hand, it would be a useful work to have. While I'm dreaming, a searchable electronic version of the complete texts would be useful too! (The "Complete Works" should really be published as a proper, annotated, "Variorum" edition, of course. Perhaps some of the contributions to the Urth list will eventually make their way into the apparatus criticus or marginalia...) Nigel --=20
