This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. I MUST disagree with Andrew on Babbie going into Horn - the reason that Sil=
k=20
surfaces in this scene is because Horn wants to leave and be done with his=20
story - that's why he says goodbye under that big tree.  He leaves, but the=20
tree sends him into Babbie.  Re-read the end of Return to the Whorl where=20
Babbie is present in the astral visit - he continually points to his "HORNS=
"=20
saying "huh-huh-huh" and hugs Horn's son vigorously, not letting him go and=20
looking at him protectively.  This is the action of a father seeing his son=
,=20
but his son doesn't recognize him.

Silk comes to the fore here - the voice in narration changes right after Ho=
rn=20
says goodbye.  Then Silk tries to deny that a part of Horn had to leave for=20
Silk to surface, and he represses his identity so that Horn may live, just =
as=20
Horn tried to suppress his identity so Silk might live.  This all occurs at=20
the end of On Blue's Waters.  Remember that Horn has to ride a beast with=20
three horns, Babbie.  There is too much evidence for Horn going into Babbie=
 to=20
think that Babbie goes into Horn/Silk.
