Herodotus and Xenophon

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

One of the most fabulously useful resources on the Web
is the Online Books Page at http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/
an attempt to keep up and index all books and major texts in=3D20
English available for free on the Web.

A search for Herodotus there turns up one translation of "An
Account of Egypt" and three of the "Histories":

A search for Xenophon turns up too many to summarize here:

Also of interest might be the MIT Internet Classics Archive
(http://classics.mit.edu/), and the Perseus Project at
Tufts (http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/).

Hope this helps,
