This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. I think the quotations from Matthew nail down the reference pretty well,=20
actually. I am convinced that it's a reference intended to relate Horn to=20
Christ in a typically prophetic way; but, come to think of it what I hadn't=20
considered was that it would seem to indicate that Marble has a much cleare=
r=20
idea of the "big picture" than I'd really considered.

There is room for debate, to me, as to what the significance of the 3 days=20
in the belly of the fish- it seems open to interpretation. The way I've=20
always looked at it, the purpose was to purify Jonah, making him a tool=20
worthy of God... possibly by *means* of the punishment, and not just=20
concurrent with it. But what bothers me is that it's the Ninevites who are=20
receiving the Sign of Jonah and not Jonah himself, so it seems like looking=20
at the whole thing from Jonah's perspective is the wrong angle. As far as=20
the Ninevites concerned, it's a matter of some guy who should have been dea=
d=20
popping out of an unlikely/impossible place and giving them a message of=20
doom and repentance, and, well, that's about all I can think of.
