DOORS: Malicapata: snippets

Spectacled Bear · 28 Jan 2003, 19:54 · from urth-v0301.mbox · original

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

[On first reading I read this as "the goddess at sixteen inches", which
is apt, if not what it actually says in the story :-)

Anyway:

"The boy who owned her's been dead now for about eight years."

"Attis cut himself ..."
"I wanted him not to die!"

"I used to have a goddess ... And then something happened. I don't
know what - something bad."

"Malicapata. Pretty sad, sir, isn't it?"

With apologies for the Subject line,

Enigmatic, though still Spectacled, Bear.
