This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. and James Blaylock.  I thought King Rat by Mieville was a better read if no=
t as dense as
Perdido St.  Certainly Neal Gaiman, Pat Murphy, would include Sherri Tepper=
's early work.

The one writer that I've ever felt compares with Wolfe on several levels is=
 Tim Powers.
Powers is Roman Catholic, "Declare" is his latest and probably the most emb=
lematic of
that.  I believe Nick mentions that book in his Washington Post article on =
GW.  Powers'
writing style while not identical to Wolfe is elegant and dense.  When I ow=
ned my own SF
bookstore, I must have sold 40 copies of "Last Call" in hardcover. Last Cal=
l was followed
by Expiration Date and Earthquake Weather. =20
