This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for.          Dunno. And I can't help your other questions either. But I do=20
recall that the Hero has a foot wound, and this has messianic overtones in=20
the Bible (and kingly overtones in Greco-Roman history). The last line of=20
the story definitely alludes to the Gospels. The name "Paul" might be=20
significant, given Paul as a distinctive follower of Jesus. But, I don't=20
recall thinking the story was an allegory of any sort. With Wolfe, the=20
allusions might be twisted, inverted, or some kind of dark spin on things.=20
