Typhon, Sev, Silk

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I tend to agree, though for not quite the same reasons.

Christ is essentially what you could call the complete package: the=20
successful integration of all of the messianic attributes into the ultimate=20
man. Severian doesn't seem on his way to Christ-consciousness, however.=20
Rather, he seems to exemplify given attributes and not others; he is the=20
right answer to the given circumstances/problems of the world at the time,=20
but not for all problems at all times. He is the virtuous destroyer who=20
clears away the old to create the new, but if you choose a different=20
spiritual "axis", if you will, Severian tends to be more or less neutral an=
d=20
not especially inclined to become otherwise.
