This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I agree completely=3D2E  His short stories are well written but nothing
special, reminding me of the old saw about competence versus talent=3D2E  W=

I entirely agree, and am surprised I can't recall this point having been
made before on this list=3D2E  Wolfe obviously likes writing short stories,=

like short stories - I think Chekhov is marvellous=3D2E  But I can't think =

single Wolfe short story that is truly impressive (except perhaps the
Detective of Dreams, but even then=3D2E=3D2E=3D2E)=3D2E  His novellas and n=
ovels a=3D
