This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Robertson Davies can't be dead! Take it back, take it back!
Okay, okay, I guess he was getting on in years ... but what a loss! He's=20
just about my favorite "mainstream" author. I've read the Deptford Trilogy=20
four or five times, and the other trilogies almost as many. When did he di=
e,=20
anyway? And was The Cunning Man his last published novel, or have I really=20
been out of the loop?
Thanks for the bad news. But I won't shoot you ... just a few months in=20
Allowin's Necklace is what I decree for this messenger, unless you, a good=20
Davies fan, should please respond to my cries and answer my questions. =20
Thanks again,

in sorrow

Joshua
