Rape in Wolfe

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

More preemptive shots

I just remembered Io in SotM. But that wasn't really a rape "scene" was it?
It is vaguely alluded to (which is probably why I keep forgetting about it).

And in reading the posts from this weekend I see someone has noted a rape in
tBotSS. I haven't finished that yet so I'll have to give it to you. But,
neither of the two I know about are dealt with favorably IMO and neither
made me as uncomfortable as say the rape scene in Donaldson's "Lord Foul's
Bane" (to pick a quite mainstream example) which was surely not the most
shocking but dealt with rather sympathetically from the POV of the
protagonist.

Any others from Wolfe?
