This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Mike,

Ooooh! An easy question! I'll answer it!

Don Maitz is the artist in question. I am not crazy about his covers for
TBotNS, but I really like some of his other work. Wolfe does seem to like
the covers, though. Maitz's first collection, _First Maitz_ (1988, ISBN
0-942681-01-0) has an introduction by Wolfe, who says some extremely nice
things about them. Wolfe also complements Maitz's covers elsewhere, I
believe in _The Castle of the Otter_.
