This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I personally think it's a backhand statement of the fact that Severian is
the Narrator.

Wolfe's universe is a Catholic one, and in a Catholic universe The Narrator
has a special place.

A way of putting it would be that S's memory is perfect **because this
reality conforms to his memory** not the other way round.

I am sorry if this sounds semi-mystical, but it expresses more or less what
I mean.   I think.

I am still lurking here with great enjoyment but I only have time to drop in
the odd note nowadays, and some of the notes are very odd indeed :-)
