Wolfe Walks - my rant

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

None of us could be happy to hear this. But, at the least, we can try to be=20
as understanding as Wolfe himself, who was there and has more reason to be=20
offended than anyone (to understate).

Mostly I am interested (and impressed) by the authors he chose to praise in=20
the workshop. In time we'll hear from everyone their merits and faults, but=20
right now we have the chance to find and read them and decide for ourselves=20
ahead of popular opinion. I suggest we take advantage of the opportunity an=
d=20
grab hold of (and discuss) these stories before they are chewed up and spit=20
out by other reviewers.

As soon as we find out where to find them, anyway.
