Wolfe Walks

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I just read this.
Damn.
Here's an elderly gentleman being treated this way by novices,=20
regardless of their age.
Gene apologizes to his host. Gentleman all the way.
Anybody who knows Gene knows that there could not have been=20
anything harsh, rude, or mean about his comments on their work.
I'm not a fiction writer, and so would not try to come to the=20
proposed workshop. But if those of you who are writers want do so something=20
like this to honor Gene's skill and what he has to offer, I'm all for your=20
doing it.
Damn, again. This is just appalling.
Damn and hell! And there are a lot of other even better God-given=20
words that are appropriate for this situation, but I'll forbear, since this=20
is the internet!
I'd better post this before I change my mind. I've gotta clean the=20
vomit off my keyboard.
