Severian as Conciliator

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Dear All:

First time reader/poster, so be patient with me. Trying to catch up on the=20
archives, but it will be a while. Long time fan of BOTNS (around 20 years=20
or so).

My Very First Question: Is there any evidence in the BOTNS tetrology that=20
Severian is/was the conciliator?? My suspicion is that Wolfe came up with=20
this after the completion of BOTNS.

(There are clear indications about the Apu-Punchau/Sev connection at the en=
d=20
of Citadel, and I knowing Wolfe he would at least have dropped hints if he=20
originally intended the Con/Sev connection. And what about Typhon's meetin=
g=20
with Severian in BOTNS.... if they had "previously" met in Typhons era=20
wouldn't a clever fellow like typhon have recalled it????)

Thanks in advance,

Ben
